Obituary of Steven M. Spencer

Steven Michael Spencer Age 60, passed away on Feb. 4, 2022. He was born Feb. 6, 1961 in Elmira, NY to the late Carl R. and Lois A. (Wagner) Spencer. He was predeceased by his brother, Merton C., his uncles; Glenn , Donald , Russell Spencer, and Frederic Wagner. He is survived by his sister, Dena L. Spencer, cousin and friend, Frederic Wagner, aunts; Laura Wagner, Mary Jane, Kathleen, and Emogene Spencer, nieces and nephews; Daniel, Christian, Ian, Kate, and Emily, as well as nine great-nieces and nephews; Zoie, Jace, Sydney, Rosalie, Gavin, Logan, Silas, David, and Baby Coe. Steven was known for touching many lives through his dedication to his work at Gerould's Pharmacy, He spent his free-time involved in his lifelong joy in all aspects of music, especially playing Hymns. He was always ready to help in times of need with family and friends. He took pride in his status as the "grumpy old man." He found a theological passion from a young age and wrapped his life up preaching the Gospel of Christ to himself and others with the help of Emmanuel Community Church. Steven's family wishes to express their greatfulnees to Dean and the wonderful staff and volunteers at Bampa's House, and to Frank Steed and everyone at Gerould's Pharmacy for the support and care they have provided Steven. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads on Thursday, February 17th 2022 from 12 pm to 1 pm. Steven's funeral service willl be held at 1 pm with Pastor Keith Ryoo officiating. Those wishing may make a donation in Steven's name to Bampa's House, PO Box 965, Corning, NY 14830 - as Steven often referred to it, his "halfway home to Heaven".
