Obituary of Arthur Lee Swartwood

Arthur Lee "Lizard" Swartwood Of Horseheads, NY Age 84, was born March 24, 1938 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Harry Lee and Virginia Belle (Lusk) Swartwood; went home to be with the Lord, peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Swartwood; step-brothers, Robert Seeley, Sonny Seeley and Skip Seeley. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet E. (Weaver) Swartwood; beloved sons and daughter-in-law's, Alan and Sally Swartwood of Erin, NY; Chris and Jessica Swartwood of Elmira Heights, NY; adored grandson, Dylan Lee Swartwood also of Elmira Heights, NY; sister, Fayne (Kink) Passmore of Waverly, NY; brother, Doug (Cindy) Swartwood of Rochester, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Swartwood was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country. He retired from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after 23 years of dedicated service. Arthur was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church in Horseheads, NY. He supported and loved watching his grandson, Dylan, the apple of his eye; participate in all of his sports, especially baseball. Art loved all old cars and motorcycles as well. Family and friends are invited to Bible Baptist Church 105 Wygant Road in Horseheads, NY on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. His Funeral Service will be held there at 7 pm. Pastor Alex Raducz will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Bath National Cemetery San Juan Avenue Bath, NY on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm where the USMC League will accord Military Honors. Barber Funeral Home is assisting the Swartwood family.
