Obituary of Youan Dong

Youan Dong (1973.10.01-2022.12.27) passed away in Big Flats, NY 14814. She was born to Mr. Daozhen Dong and Guoqian Xiang in Mianyang, Sichuan Province, China. Youan studied at Shandong University between September, 1991 and July 1995, and graduated with a Bachelor in Science from the Department of Biology. She married Xuegong Deng on July 16,1997 in Hefei, Anhui Province. She joined her husband at The University of Texas at Austin in 1998. They moved to central New Jersey in early 2002. Their daughter Nancy Deng was born there in September, 2007. The family moved to Horseheads, NY 14845 at the end of 2018 and changed to the current residence at the end of 2019. Youan was survived by both her parents in Kaifeng, Henan Province, China, husband and daughter, and her younger sister in Beijing. Youan always left behind a trail of kindness and caring for peoples around her. She was briefly a teacher and loved children. The family will greet friends on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. in Horseheads, NY and host a synchronized online memorial celebration of her life at 9:30 AM. The viewing ceremony will follow at 10:30 AM.
