Obituary of Alberta A. Morter

Mrs. Alberta A. (Miller) Morter Age 92 of Elmira, NY. She was born February 15th 1931 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Emmett and Effie (Canfield) Miller, and passed away on Thursday, April 6th 2023. In addition to her parents Alberta was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 38 years, Lynn Morter in 2004; her daughter Susan Hazen; son Carl Fairchild; grandson Charles Fairchild; and brother Albert Miller. She is survived by her children Nancy (Joe) Blake of Beaver Dams, Charles E. (Nancy) Fairchild Jr. of Pine City, William (Andrea) Fairchild Sr. of Florida, Thomas (Diana) Fairchild of Horseheads, Daniel (Diane) Fairchild of Binghamton, Daughter-in-law, Betty Fairchild of Painted Post; along with a host of dear grandchildren and great grandchildren; many extended family and friends including dear friends Tobe and Valerie Hughes. Alberta retired from many years at the A & P Plant. She and Lynn greatly enjoyed their trips out West. She enjoyed listening to the likes of Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. When they weren't travelling, Alberta had her fun by crocheting and visiting Tioga Downs. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads on Monday April 10th 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 11th 2023 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads.
