Obituary of Elmae Ruger

Elmae Ruth Adams Ruger Cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend has passed away on March 28, 2024 at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Adams and Ruth Austin Adams. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sons Thomas, Timothy and Theodore. She is survived by her beloved son Terry (Barbara) Ruger; foster son Thomas (Mary) Heck; sister Linda Estabrook; her cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Michelle, Alexis, Katrina, Michael, Jessica, Steven, Christopher, Courtney, Shane, and Matthew along with several great grandchildren; niece Lezlie (Robert) Morse, and daughters-in-law Dona Miller Ruger and Misty Keyser Ruger. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and gave the biggest loving hugs! She always found the time to play a game of UNO or Skip-Bo (her favorite card games!), puzzles or a book to read. Attending their many after-school sporting events, rain or shine, was one of the many highlights of her day. "Mothers, grandmothers and roses are much the same. Each is a God's masterpiece with different names." She worked for many years at Cayuga Medical as a telephone operator before retiring. It was second nature for Elmae to help others, and she especially enjoyed being in the company of those that loved her. There will be no services or calling hours. A private celebration of her life and burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
