Obituary of Rev. Deborah R. Roe

ROE, Rev. Deborah R. Age 64 of Fletcher Street, Horseheads passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Donald Roe in 2009. Deb was born in Syracuse, NY, a daughter to Redfield and Lois Sweet. She is survived by her son and daughter, Glenn (Cynthia) Korec of Jamesville and NY, Elisabeth (Ronald) Trumbull of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Lilly Rose, Chloe, and Jenessa; brother and sisters, Timothy Sweet of Marcellus, NY, Mahala O’Niel also of Marcellus, NY, Elizabeth Wright of Manlius, NY, and Rebecca Johnson of King, NC; along with several nieces and nephews. Deb was an LPN having worked at the former UCP, now Able2, in Elmira, NY. She was a dedicated pastors’ wife and later became a minster herself serving the United Methodist Conference at Starkey UMC and both Catlin and Pine Valley United Methodist Church’s. Deb loved working with youth groups and remained dedicated to her faith, family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed music, playing the piano and guitar. A celebration of Deb’s life will take place in the First Presbyterian Church One East Main St. Marcellus, NY 13108 on Wed. June 15, 2011 at 6:00 pm the Rev. William Grossman will officiate.
