David Joseph Dixon

Age 75 of Horseheads, NY. He was born January 24, 1949 in Corning, NY, the son of the late David H. and Mary (O'Shanick) Dixon. David passed away at home on Wednesday, May 15th 2024.

He is survived by his son Joseph David (Emily) Dixon; his wife of 30 years, Claudia Kaye Dixon; daughter Heather Lynn Lloyd; granddaughters Ashlee Marie (Jason) Zivkovic and Clairese Joanne Dixon; great granddaughter, Eleanor Ivana Zivkovic; sisters Vicki Cunningham and Helen Beller along with a host of extended family and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his siblings Mary Randall and Frank Dixon.

David served in the U.S. Army, drafted to Vietnam. His sense of honor for his service was matched by the love he had for his family, and his sense of humor. He worked for Arnot Realty Corp. for over 35 years. While he repaired and replaced as a maintenance man, he ran across many people who would go on to become his friends. His infectious, sometimes obnoxious, wit – along with his work ethic, meant David has a lasting effect on those who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.

David will be laid to rest in Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis Street in Elmira, NY with military honors on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 2 pm.
