Obituary of Roberta S. Dickinson

Roberta S. Dickinson, known affectionately as 'Bobbie', passed away on July 7th 2024 in Elmira, New York, at the age of 96. Born on January 1st, 1928 in Waverly, New York, she was a beloved member of the community and cherished for her kindness and spirited nature. Bobbie enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from Chemung Canal Trust Company in 1985, where she was respected for her dedication and work ethic. Her retirement years were rich with activities that spoke to her love for life and nature. An avid animal lover, Bobbie had a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats. She relished the tranquility of her country home, often found watching wildlife from her window. Together with her late husband, Jack, Bobbie was an active member of a motorhome club, exploring various locales with fellow members. These journeys were filled with shared meals, laughter, and the joy of companionship. Her love for good food, drink, and the company of friends and family defined many of the happiest moments of her life. She leaves behind her loving family: her son Keith and his wife Pamela; granddaughter Shelby and her husband Sam; grandsons Trevor and Parker; and great-grandsons Ryan and Thomas Lincoln. Each will miss her deeply and cherish memories of her warmth and guidance. Bobbie's family has chosen to hold a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chemung County SPCA, an organization close to Bobbie's heart, reflecting her love of animals.
