Obituary of Gary V. Uncapher

Gary V. Uncapher Age 78, of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024. Gary was born in 1946 to Verl and Mildred (Seymour) Uncapher and grew up in Corning, NY. Gary is predeceased by his parents and sister Bonnie (Jim) Bennett. Gary is survived by siblings Kevin Uncapher (Anne), Kimberly Wiedmaier (Pete), brother -in- law, Jim Bennett and several cousins that he was close with over the years. Gary worked as a Sears appliance repairman for over 30 years. Once retired, he spent many winters in Florida and his summers in Horseheads. Later in life, he made Horseheads his full-time home where he enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, bike-riding, weightlifting, hunting, and motorcycle riding. Gary was very fond of his Horseheads neighbors who lived close by. Kevin and Anne were grateful to have been able to help him remain at home as long as he could and they will miss him dearly. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Chemung County Nursing Facility for the compassionate care they provided to Gary in these last few weeks as he transitioned from his Horseheads home to his new home at CCNF. The family is also grateful for the care given to Gary over the years by Dr. Robert Burke and most recently, by Dr. Mills at Big Flats Neurology. Gary requested no final service. Burial arrangements are being handled by Barber Funeral Home.
