Obituary of Mildred Santucci
Mildred Santucci
Age 87 and longtime resident of South Avenue in Horseheads passed away July 31, 2011 at Cayuga Medical Center. Mildred was born May 3, 1924 to Servellon and Mable (Smiley) Kelly. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe in 1998. Her surviving family included her sons and daughter, Sandra (Kjell) Bjorvand of Elmira, NY, Joseph (Alice) Santucci of Elmira, NY, Stephen (Susan) Santucci of Horseheads, NY, Thomas (Belinda) Santucci also of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Mark Santucci, Marie (Romi) Rem, Dain (Courtney) Reese, Kelly (Jeff) Proctor, Jeffery (Jennifer) Santucci and Brent Santucci, Megan (Joe) Wascki, Melissa (Jakob) Huneke and Douglas (Kayla) Bailey; great grandchildren, Katie and Taryn Reese, Lindsay Santucci and Brendan Santucci, Owen and Cooper Rem, Madyson Wascki and Gracie Proctor; siblings, Dean Kelly, Sally (Carl) Schnautz, Jean Williamson, Vera Bruce; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kelly and Yolanda (John) Pierri; brother-in-law, George Horton; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including, Virginia Carboni. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Clendon (Luella), William (Madelyn), Reynold (Elizabeth)and Don Kelly, Eulla Horton; sisters-in-law, Arlene Kelly, Louise Cipriani, Nellie Phillips, and brothers-in-law, Ward Williamson, George Bruce. She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and more recently a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. She was an honorary member of the Sacred Heart’s Society at St. Anthony’s and member of Horseheads Historical Society. She enjoyed growing her roses and taking pictures. Mildred was employed as a seamstress and clerk at Marvin’s Clothing Store for many years and a devoted NY Yankee fan. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 4-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Mary Our Mother Church, 816 West Broad Street, Horseheads on Thursday, at 9:00 a.m. with the Rev. Christopher E. Linsler officiating. Burial services will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery beside her late husband, Joe.
