Obituary of Anthony R. Nowaczyk

NOWACZYK, Anthony R. “Tony” Age 76 of Grand Central Ave. and Wygant Road and formerly a longtime resident of Briarcliff Drive, Horseheads, passed away after a brief illness On Nov. 30, 2011. Tony was born July 6, 1935 in Elmira, NY, to Edward and Dora Novick. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Kinch) Nowaczyk in 2007. His surviving family includes his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott (Cheryl) Nowaczyk of Horseheads, Gary (Becky) Nowaczyk of Port Deposit, MD, and Rick (Debbie) Nowaczyk also of Horseheads, and with whom Tony recently resided; grandchildren, Ellen (Elijah) Prokop, Alex and Samantha Nowaczyk, Chris Nowaczyk and A.J. Nowaczyk; great grandchildren Jason and Kaitlyn; Brothers, Floyd Nowaczyk of Houston, TX, Edward (Beverly) Novick of Horseheads; Sisters, Joyce (Bob) Lee of Horseheads, Phyllis (Frank) Zazynski of NC Also deceased by sister, Kathy Brown. Tony was retired as a Chemical Prep with Toshiba Westinghouse, a loving husband father and grandfather and an avid bowler. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sat. Dec. 3, 2011 from 11:00am-1:00 pm. His service will take place privately at the convenience of his family with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.
