Obituary of Harold Lee Rynders
RYNDERS, Harold Lee.
Age 87 of Lower Maple Ave Elmira and longtime resident of Largo Florida
passed away Sunday July 8, 2012.
Harry was born in Avoca NY to Victor and Anna (VanWormer) Rynders.
He was raised in Elmira, attended EFA and graduated from Rochester Business Institute. He also served in the US Army Corps of Engineers and was a veteran of WWII.
Harry was an insurance adjuster in his fathers business and worked in sales for Suburban Propane. Over the years he and his wife Shirley owned and managed multiple facilities for the elderly in New York, Virginia and Florida.
Harry was a boy scout leader, an avid NY Yankee fan who enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and visiting family. We can still see and hear his infectious smile and laugh.
In 2003 Harry was predeceased in death by his son, David Rynders.
He is survived by his devoted wife Shirley (McCracken) Rynders and her children, to whom he was a wonderful father;

He is also survived by his children:
Douglas (Karen) Rynders of Corning, NY,
Beth (Richard) Gams of Waterloo, SC,
Kimberly English of Elmira, NY,
Scott (Peggy) Rynders of Richmond, VA
As well as his brothers:
Gerald and Donald Rynders.
Harry leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A private celebration of Harry's life and burial will be held by his family at a later date.
Special thanks to the many health care workers of Elcor, Arnot Ogden Dialysis Unit, as well as countless others who provided Harry with hours of personal care.
