Obituary of Doris A. Baxter

Doris A. Baxter Age 84 of Liberty Street, Horseheads, NY passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was born July 2, 1928 in the Town of Veteran to Reuben and Luella (Parlett) Chapman. She is survived by her twin sister, Dorothy Chapman of Horseheads; several cousins, nieces and nephews including, Joy (Nick) Allington of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Doris was predeceased by her siblings, Ransford, Clarence and Lawrence Chapman, Mildred Lockwood, Clara Lewis, and Mabel Chapman. She was retired from Westinghouse and an active 74 year and Charter member of the First Baptist Church in Horseheads. She enjoyed traveling, church activities and time spent with her family. Doris was also a loving and caring foster parent for five children. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, on Friday 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. Her service will take place in the Horseheads First Baptist Church, 2293 Grand Central Avenue, Horseheads, NY on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with burial service to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads.
