Obituary of Charlene A. Seymour

SEYMOUR, Charlene A. Age 67 of Chester St. Elmira passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 7, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Charlene was born in Troy, PA to Frank and Doris (Boyd) Hable. Charlene was raised on Franklin St. in Horseheads and was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1964. She is survived by her husband, Norman Seymour; Daughter and son Mariessa Seymour of Wellsburg, NY, Richard (Heather Shaw) Seymour of Horseheads, NY; Brothers, Lyle (Marge) Hicks of Elmira, NY, Kenneth (Daisy) Hicks of Roseville, PA, James (Nancy) Miller of Rush, NY, Al (Linda) Kakretz of Elmira, NY; Several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Max Hicks and beloved grand dog “Zinger” Charlene was employed by the Elmira Police Department in the Traffic Bureau where she worked as a crossing guard for over 26 years. She was member of the Crossing Guard Association and their Treasurer. She was also a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Elmira. She loved her family and also an occasional cross word puzzle. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Friday November 9, 2012 from 1-3:00 and again from 7-9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church 224 Franklin St. Elmira on Saturday at 8:30 am with the Rev. John DeSocio, Celebrant.
