Obituary of Richard J. Beach

BEACH, Richard J. age 84 of Fairview Rd. in Erin passed away after a long illness on Tuesday Mar. 2, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born in Ithaca NY on June 15, 1925 to Ralph and Beatrice (Denmark) Beach. He is survived by his wife Joyce (Barr) Beach; their children, Rickey (Roxanne) Beach of Erin, NY, Marcia Jividen of Lowman, NY, Colleen Price of Syracuse, NY,Collette (Bob) Levanduski of Elmira, NY, Tamara (William) Frandsen of Spencer, NY;7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sister, Anita Hinton of Horseheads, NY;sister-in-law, Peg Beach of Cayuta, NY; K-9 companion “Duke”. Dick was retired from the A& P Plant in Horseheads where he was an extract controlman. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during WWII. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in Canada. He was also a devoted NY Giant fan and NY Yankee fan. Dick loved time spent with his family and friends and going out to lunch. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sat. March 6, 2010 from 2-4:00pm. His service will follow there at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Dorothy-York Alloway officiating.
