Obituary of Duane C. Card

CARD, Duane C. Age 69 of Van Etten and formerly a longtime resident of Corning, Passed away after an illness on Sun Dec. 30, 2012 at home. He was born in Corning, NY on May 27, 1943 to Clinton and Bernice (VanSile) Card. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Blencowe) Card; Daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Higgins of Douglasville, PA, Michelle Card of Corning, NY Denise (Lynn) Furman also of Corning, NY Shannon (John) Collins of Odessa, NY, Melissa (Gary) Pyhtila also of Odessa, NY Joleen Monington of Cooperstown, NY; Grandchildren, Kyle, Nolan, Aaron, Kaylee, Isabella, Ashley, Johnathon, Nathan, Amanda, Zachary, Emma, Hailey and Colton; great grandchild, Liam; siblings, Rod (Shirley) Card, Gloria Congdon, Randall (Patty) Card. He was also predeceased by his brother, Alan Card. Duane was a veteran of the US Army, member and past commander of the Corning VFW #524 and Big Flats American Legion. He was formerly employed at Howard Delivery and also a driver and member of the Teamster Union in Hagerstown MD. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St Horseheads on Friday January 4, 2012 from 4-5:00 pm. His service will follow there at the funeral home at 5:00 pm. Burial with honors in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
