Obituary of Edna R Schmick

Edna R. Schmick Age 83 of Sing Sing Road, Horseheads passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald in 2006. Her surviving family includes her sons and daughters, Rodney (Deb) Schmick of Rochester, NY, Joan Corby of Tonawanda, NY, Paul (Brenda) Schmick of Horseheads, NY and Renee (Charles) McGowan of Nashville, TN; 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters, Doris Russell of Elmira, NY, Jane (The Rev. Donald) Rockwell of Pine City, NY, Mary Lou (Philip) Parsons of Canton, PA and Frederick Austin of California. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Lawrence Austin. Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. In her earlier years she worked cleaning houses, and also worked in several area banks. She loved the Christmas Season and time spent with family. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 3-6:00 p.m. Her service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with her brother-in-law, Rev. Donald Rockwell officiating. Burial service will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads. Those wishing are encouraged to bring with them a story, a memory or remembrance of Edna that will assist her family in building a wonderful story and memory book of Edna’s life.
