Obituary of Alberta P. Shaw

SHAW, Alberta P. Age 86 of Elmira Heights and formerly of Florida passed away after a long illness on Friday, October 12, 2012. She was born in Elmira on February 5, 1926 to Stanley and Mildred (Carpenter) Przymusik. Alberta is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Shaw Jr.; daughters, Jacalyn (Terry) O’Herron of Horseheads, Karen Riley also of Horseheads; grandchildren, Julie (Chris Anderson) O’Herron, Tim (Jennie Fiske) O’Herron, Patrick O’Herron, Tracey (Josh) Collins and Melissa Riley; great grandchildren, Gregory and Eileen Anderson, Reese O’Herron; sister, Joyce Wood of Elmira, NY; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rita Roe, Marilyn Shaw and William Shaw all of Horseheads, NY, and Ted Shaw of Florida. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Joe Riley; sisters, Josephine Dekoschak, Frances Paska and Margaret Kowalski. Alberta was a longtime and devoted employee of both Sears and J.C. Penny’s Department Stores in Elmira and Florida. She attended St, Mary Our Mother Church and was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who also loved to travel. At her request service with the Barber Funeral Home Horseheads will take place privately.
