Obituary of Lora Mae Starner

STARNER, Lora “Mae” Freligh Born July 12, 1921 in Gaines Township, Tioga County, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Mae was the daughter of John Wilbur and Lora Mae Jackson Freligh. She grew up in Mansfield, PA, with sisters Ruth Emma and Beth Mary and brother Howard Edgar. On May 8, 1942 in Elmira Heights, NY, Mae married Gerald Edwin Starner, with whom she shared over 60 wonderful years. She will always be loved by her children Greg and wife Deborah, Betsy, Jeff, and Kim and wife Olga. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren Todd and family, Darcy, Owen and Meah; Amy and husband Ray McLaughlin and daughters, Taylor and Leah; William and wife Brooke; Jocelyn; and MaKenzie will miss her. A longtime resident of Horseheads, Mae enjoyed antiques, decorating, travel and reading. She will be interred with her husband at Woodlawn National Cemetery. A private service will be held at the convenience of her family. Do not worry about our tears. They are the language of unspeakable love. Arrangements are with the Barber Funeral Home, Horseheads.
