Obituary of Mildred L. McMasters

McMasters, Mildred (Millie) L. Age 81 of W. Thurston St. Elmira, NY Passed away peacefully with a small group of extended family by her side on Sat. Jan 12, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, James McMasters in 1978. She is survived by, Son, Jim (Barbara) McMasters of Springfield, VA, Son, Dale McMasters of Elmira, NY, and, Daughter, Dorothy (Curt Anderson) McMasters of Elmira, NY; Grandchildren: Timmy (Liz), Jennifer, Andrea and Alex. (Jessica, and Deverin). Great grandchildren, Nick, Kaden and, Kayleigh. Numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings, Nellie (Bill) Lees, Isaac (Roberta) Layton, Mary (Jake) Robinson, Bob Layton, Rich Layton and, Lucille (Les) Pease. Predeceased by grandchild, Andy. Predeceased by mother Emma. Predeceased by brothers Tom, Will, Don, and Bert. Was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin to many. Also, MumMum to Karen and many others Mildred was a waitress at the former Nicks Restaurant in Horseheads for many years up to mid ‘80’s. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW ladies Auxiliary, as well as an avid bingo player. A special thank you to the staff on the 2nd floor at the CCNF who have been there for us these last two years. And to the family and friends that have supported us and helped fill in so many times over the last eight years. It really meant a lot to Millie and to the family. Service info: A Memorial service celebrating her life and love to all will be held at the Hand in Hand Church located at 390 Warnick St Elmira, NY 14901 on February 2nd 2013 at noon, followed by small luncheon and fellowship.
