Obituary of Arthur E. McGrain

McGRAIN, Arthur E. age 70 and longtime resident of Millport passed away on Mar. 18, 2010. He was born July 3, 1939 the son to the late Elsie and Ralph McGrain. Art is survived by his wife of 45 years, Priscilla Zimdahl McGrain; their children, Gale (Russell) Cornell of Millport, Judith (Dennis) Rice of North Carolina, Pam (Dennis Rhynehart) Vonrapacki of Millport, Susan (Scott) Martin of Elmira, Dawn (Brooks) Bellows of Millport, Eugene (Daniella Rowe) McGrain of Alaska; brothers, George (Clarie Bixby) McGrain of Elmira Heights, Ralph McGrain of Elmira and Leon (Wanda) McGrain of Horseheads; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Art was a member of Chemung Valley Old Timers Assoc. He worked for Howard Johnson’s Restaurant for over 34 years prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a dedicated provider, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main Street, Horseheads on Thurs.Mar. 25, 2010 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 pm. His service officiated by Lew Baker will take place there on Friday at 10:00 am.
