Obituary of Susan S. Evans

EVANS, Susan S. (Schweizer) Age 68 of Middle Rd. Horseheads passed away after a long illness on Sun. Feb. 24, 2013 at Troy Hospital in Troy, PA. Susan was born January 7, 1945, in Elmira, NY, to the late Ernest and Eileen (Weed) Schweizer; She is survived by her husband, Robert Evans; Daughter and son, Sarah (Kevin Kline) Whitson of Horseheads, NY, Kristopher “Kasey” (Danielle) Evans of Savona, NY; Grandchildren, Liberty Susan, Langleigh, and Landon Evans; Peter, Maxwell, Jack and Grace Whitson; Sister and brother, Julie (Marc) Shepherd of Pine City, NY, Les (Bonnifer) Schweizer of Cayuta, NY; Brother-in-law, Steve Lese of Horseheads, NY; Step children, Richard (Lydia) Evans of Watkins Glen, NY, and Sharon (Gino DePasquale) Maximiek; nieces and nephews, Shane (Amy) Lese, Shelby (Dennis) Ham, Tambi Schweizer, Lindsey (John) Walczak, Kyle Schweizer, Kirsten (Will) Reeve and Drew Shepherd and several step grandchildren, In addition to her parents, Susan was also predeceased by her sister, Sally Lese in 2008 and step son, Robert Scott Evans in 1991. Susan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Horseheads. She was a graduate of Keuka College and was an elementary teacher working in the Corning School District at Erwin Valley School in Gang Mills prior to her illness. Susan was a wonderful wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Tues Feb. 26, 2013 from 4-7:00 pm her service will be celebrated in the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday Feb. 27, 21013 at 11:00 am.
