Obituary of James ""Jimbo"" O. Rice

RICE, James O. “Jimbo” Age 75 of Arnold Ave. and Brandon, FL passed away June 30, 2013. He was born in Cortland to Francis and Frances (Lusk) Rice. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Azubah “Zubie” Rice; Sons and daughters-in-law, Brad (Cathy) Rice of Horseheads, Eric (Lisa) Rice of Elmira Heights, Jamie (Michelle) Rice of Fort Edward, NY; Grandchildren, Ashley (Joel) Hockenberry, Matthew Rice, Kathryn, Jesse, and Meagan Rice, Lindsey and MacKenzie Rice; Great grandchildren, Angelina and Haleigh Brother, John (Helen) Rice of North Carolina. He was also predeceased by his brothers, William and Gerald Rice and sister Joanne Beebe Jim was retired from Hardinge Inc. where he worked in all phases of research, development and manufacture. He was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church. He was very active with the sports programs in Elmira Heights Little Leagues and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and role model to many. He was also a devote Gideon and while growing up he was a member of the 8th Ward. He loved the Eldridge Park Carousel and can finally keep the brass ring. Family and friends are invited to call at the Community Wesleyan Church 2095 Grand Central Ave. in Horseheads on Wed. July 3, 2013 from 1-3:00 pm. His service will follow there in church at the conclusion of calling hours at 3:00 pm. Burial service will take place at the convenience of his family.
