Obituary of Lillian Evelyn Gore

GORE, Lillian Evelyn Age 90 and longtime resident of Maple Ave. in Elmira passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her daughter and caregivers on Sept. 3, 2013. Evelyn was born May 28, 1923 in Natchez, Mississippi to Edmond B. and Lillian P. (Reed)Duckworth She was recently predeceased by her husband Paul in 2012 She is survived by her daughter, Paula Gore of Elmira and nephew, Terry Dilmore of Georgia and a host of caregivers and friends. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker She collected dolls since 1946. Evelyn was a member of the Horseheads Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the WW II, 38th Bomb Group Auxiliary in Florida. Evelyn is also survived by three grand nephews, David, Aaron, and Kevin; and a grand niece, Audra. She was also predeceased by her parents and three sisters. Family and friend are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sunday Sept. 8, 2013 from 5-7:00 pm. Her service will be celebrated in Elmwood Baptist Church 230 Elmwood Ave. Elmira Heights on Mon. Sept. 9, 2013 at 10:00 am with friend and pastor the Rev. David Sullivan officiating.
