Obituary of Florence Thiele

THIELE, Florence D. Age 85 of Breesport Rd., formerly of Fairway Lane Horseheads, NY passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 in the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Florence was born Nov. 2, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Gimber) Cornell in Brooklyn. NY. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1997 after 48 years of marriage. Florence was also predeceased by her son-in-law, David Dugliss in 2012 and brothers, John and Charles Cornell. Her surviving family includes, her daughters, Janice A. Dugliss of Horseheads, NY and Susan D. Nitschke of Horseheads, NY; granddaughters, Amy (Michael) Fiorentino, Melanie (Shaun) Peden, Valerie (Neil) Folnsbee; grandsons, Justin DiStefano and Matthew (Elizabeth) DiStefano; special “adopted” granddaughter, Rebecca Brandt; great grandchildren, Oni, Tatiana, Maeson, and Teagan. Florence was devoted to her family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a full adventurous life traveling with her husband throughout his career. Florence was generous to her family and the charities she supported. Friends and family are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main Street, Horseheads on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 3-4:00 pm. Her memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 4:00 pm. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
