Obituary of Jean M. Regan

REGAN, Jean M. (Masteller) Age 85 and formerly of Waverly and longtime resident of Keuka Lake passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010. at the Steuben County Health Care Facility in Bath, NY. Jean was born in Sayre, PA, the daughter to the late Harold and Edith (Peppard) Masteller on Jan. 24, 1925. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Dennis “Denny” Regan in April of 1989. Her surviving family includes her sister, Carol (Vern) Jeffers of Painted Post, NY; brother, Robert (Lois) Masteller of Hilton Head, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews with their families; and many close and caring friends and neighbors including, dear friend and caregiver, Don Kelly also of Keuka Lake. In addition to her husband Denny, Jean was also predeceased by her sister, Claire Riorden and brother, Harold Masteller. Jean was a longtime communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Waverly NY. In her earlier years she was a hair stylist operating her hair Salon from her home on Wilber St. in Waverly. For a brief time thereafter she became a licensed real-estate broker and worked for Pierce Associates and John Foley Real estate in Tunkhannock, PA. She enjoyed family, friends, a game of golf with neighbors and the beauty of Keuka Lake. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads, NY on Friday Mar.26, 2010 from 3-6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. James Catholic Church, 503 Clark St. Waverly, NY 14892 on Sat. Mar. 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Foakwah officiating. A graveside committal service will follow in St. James Cemetery in Waverly where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Denny.
