Obituary of Shirley Anne Walker

WALKER, Shirley Anne Cundy age 79, of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Horseheads, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Huston) Cundy. Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Gastonia, Aquatics Instructor at Stowe's YMCA in Belmont and retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg County School District as a Special Ed Teacher. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Wilbur Walker; Sons and daughters, Paul Johnson of Mt. Morris, Jeff (Pam) Johnson of Horseheads, Jimmy (Dena) Walker of Virginia Beach, VA, Will (Paula) Walker III of Wilmington, NC; Kathie (Peter) Ray of Denver, NC, Laurie (Kerry) Burden of Buford, GA., Liz (Joe) Santamorena of Brewster, NY; grandchildren, Brandi, Kristin, Peter-John, Jennifer, Cari, Lyndsey, Graham, Danielle, Jamian, Chase, Jona, Jarid, Sarakay, Dakota, Melissa, Nicole and Victoria; and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Cundy and Craig (Lisa) Cundy all of Horseheads. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son, Joe Walker. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sat. Dec. 14, 2013 from 11:00 am-12:00 noon where her service will follow at 12:00 noon.
