Obituary of Betty J. Pease

PEASE, Betty Jane age 82 of Windsor Rd. in Horseheads passed away unexpectedly on Thurs. Mar. 25, 2010. Betty was born in Elmira, NY the daughter to the late Clyde and Bertha (Doty) Orr. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 64 years, Raymond Pease; daughters, Janice (Dr. Renato) Rojas of Horseheads, NY, Joyce (Brian) Cunningham of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Eric (Suzanne) Gabrielson Jr. of Fairbanks AK, Joseph Rojas of Boston, MA, Jamie (Sharon) Burgess of Horseheads, NY, Justin Pfaff of Horseheads, NY, Timothy (Jamie) Cunningham of Kingsland, GA; great grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Evan, Sean and Hailey; great-great granddaughter, Lauren Marie; sisters, Delores (Richard) Yorke of Elmira, NY and Wanda Wolcott of Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Earle Catlin of Horseheads, NY; sister-in-law, Rita Orr of Cairo, NY, and nieces and nephews many close and caring friends neighbors and patrons including Debbie Hicks also of Horseheads, NY. Betty was also predeceased by her brother and sister, Thelma TenBroeck and Donald Orr. Betty along with her husband Ray were self-employed restaurateurs who in 1964 opened Sugar and Spice Restaurant in Horseheads. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Betty loved the restaurant, her customers and always yearly trips to Las Vegas. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Monday Mar. 29, 2010 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 pm where her service will follow calling hours at 8:00 pm. the Rev. Gilbert Mitchell will officiate.
