Obituary of Gayle M. Pritchard

PRITCHARD, Gayle Marie Age 60 of Horseheads passed away Feb. 14, 2014 in Indian Rocks Beach, FL after a courageous battle with cancer. Gayle was born in Elmira, to Thomas and Esther (Stermer) Margeit. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Ted Pritchard of Horseheads; and son,Sean Pritchard of Brooklyn, NY; She is also survived by her parents, Tom and Esther Margeit of Horseheads; Sister, Wendy (Dan) Swearingen of Horseheads, Brother, Terry (Julie) Margeit also of Horseheads, Sisters-in-law, Judy Margeit of Lodi, NY; Janet (Gerald) Swift of Gang Mills, Sharon DePuy of Elmira; Brothers-in-law, Tim (Tess) Pritchard of Elmira Heights, and Thomas Pritchard of Buffalo. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also recently predeceased by her brother Thomas Margeit in 2013. Gayle was a graduate of Horseheads High School and was employed at GST BOCES for 39 years where she retired as the Business Manager in 2011. Gayle as a communicant of St. Peter & Paul’s Church where she participated with her husband Ted at Parish Life and other Church activities. She was also an active member of the Horseheads Women’s Club.Gayle was very athletic and was 3rd Degree Blackbelt in Hwardo. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Thurs. Feb. 20, 2014 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Peter & Paul’s Church 161 High St. Elmira NY on Fri. Feb. 21, 2014 at 10:30 am.
