Obituary of Donald C. Pastore

PASTORE, Donald C. Age 88, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Elcor Nursing Home. Donald was predeceased by his loving wife of over 46 years, Patricia in 2000; his parents, Orlando and Mary Pastore and beloved dog “Anna”. He is survived by his children, David (Nancy) Pastore of Horseheads, NY, Denise Pastore (Joe Talerico) of Horseheads, NY, Robert Pastore (Janine Taylor) also of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Amy (Daniel) Kick, Julie (Michael) Rose, Michael (Megan) Pastore and Erin (Aaron) Earl; great grandchildren, Rylie Kick, Mary Pastore, and Grayson Earl; sister, Gloria May of Horseheads and several nieces and nephews. Don was a graduate of Southside High school and veteran of the US Air Force. After graduating college and meeting his future wife, Patricia, he began his career in Buffalo, NY as an engineer for Bell Aircraft working on the Rascal Missile. He then retired from Fairway Spring in Horseheads, NY as a foreman. Don was a collector of model cars and airplanes. He always loved flying and wanted to attain his pilot’s license. He loved sports, especially football and was a dedicated Steelers Fan. He loved his trips to Historic Gettysburg and loved his Buick Road Master station wagon. Above all else he loved his family and was a true gentleman who always had a kind word to offer. Services with the Barber Funeral Home in Horseheads will take place privately.
