Obituary of Marion J. Personius

Personius, Marion J. Marion (Sonny) Personius, age 82, of Terry Hill Rd, Horseheads died Friday, May 14, 2010 at Arnot Ogden Memorial hospital surrounded by his family. He was born March 9, 1928 in the very home he raised his own family and operated the family farm. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty (Powers), his sons Tom (Betsy) Personius of Kentucky and John (Connie) Personius, his daughters Linda (Kevin) Roe, Kathleen (Rich) Cicora, Patricia (Mike) Hazen, and Kelly (Tim) Sherwood all of Horseheads, his sister, Aloise Benedict ,12 grandchildren, one great grandson and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Thomas and Mary (Hajek) Personius, he was also predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Julia and Robert Ettenberger, brother Thomas Personius, and granddaughter Corey Cicora. As a life long resident of the Town of Veteran he was a former member of the Veteran Grange, Chemung County Farm Bureau, and the 4-H. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, farming, fishing, and hunting. Personius, Marion J. A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday June 27, 2010 from 12:00 noon-2:00 pm at the farm, 403 Terry Hill Rd., Horseheads.
