Obituary of Janet D. Doane

DOANE, Janet D. age 73 of Horseheads went home to be with the Lord on Sat. May 15, 2010. Janet was born June 1, 1936 in Elmira, NY, the daughter to the late Salvatore and Ida (Auge) Dandrea. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lynn M Doane; 3 Sons, Ronald E. Doane (Linda) of Horseheads NY, Timothy J. Doane (Janine) of Elmira Heights NY, Patrick J. Doane (Stacy) of Carlisle PA; Six grandchildren, Elizabeth Doane Sherburne (Robert Sherburne) of Horseheads NY, Joseph H. Doane of Raleigh NC, Harley J. Doane (fiance Allison Hahn) of Bridgeville PA, Corbin R. Doane of Indiana, PA, Brianne K. Doane of Carlisle PA, Bryce P. Doane of Carlisle, PA; Brother, John Dandrea (Virginia) of Horseheads, NY; Brother-in-law, James Dominikoski, Arthur VanGerpen; Brother in law, Terry (Lillian) Doane, Gary (Martha) Doane Bruce (Lucy) Doane; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Marie VanGerpen and Rosanne Dominikoski. She was a former member of Sweet Adelines of Hornell NY. Janet enjoyed singing in church choirs. She was a Cub Scout leader, Member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Member of Twin Tier Vintage Car Club, Attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Thurs. May 20, 2010 from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 pm. Her service will take place there on Fri. at 10:00 am with the Rev. Clifford Proper to officiate interment to follow in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
