Obituary of Joseph Michael Warakomski

Joe Warakomski passed away peacefully at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, on Saturday December 5th, 2015 after an extended illness.
Joe was 79, born on December 8th, 1935 in Elmira, New York to Joseph and Leocadia (Niekras) Warakomski.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Getchell) Warakomski, daughters Jennifer (Aarron) Baughman of Afton, NY, and Joanna Warakomski of Horseheads, NY, sister Barbara (Douglas) Bauer, and brother John (Rose) Warakomski.
He was grandfather to 9 grandchildren: Monika (Joseph) Rogers, Hannah (Christopher) Anthony, Olivia (Nathan) Culver, Emma, Elijah, Ezra, and Micah Baughman, and Leocadia and Makena Warakomski. He was great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren: Jennalynn and Alethea Anthony, and Vivian Culver.
Joe served in the Army from 1953 to 1957. He received his Associate in Applied Science from Mohawk Valley Technical Institute in 1955 and his Bachelor of Engineering Technology from RIT in 1985. He was committed to his work as a Mechanical Engineer for several companies, including Purolator and Sepac, throughout his career.
He was a man dedicated to service of the Lord, evident in his involvement and participation in many ministries through the Breesport Baptist Church, of which he was a member since 1973.
His creative mind was evident in his enjoyment of a wide variety of artistic pursuits including painting, drawing, photography, and calligraphy. He also had a great love of nature and was an avid gardener with extensive knowledge of wildlife, especially birds, and astronomy.
He will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, man of God, co-worker, and friend.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Breesport Baptist Church, 1811 North Chemung Road, Breesport, New York, on Friday, December 11th, 2015, from 10:00-11:00am. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00am.
Arrangements are being made through Barber Funeral Home and Breesport Baptist Church.
Internment will take place privately and at the convenience of his family.
