Obituary of Shirley J. Callear

CALLEAR, Shirley J. age 84 of Horseheads passed away Wed. July 14, 2010. She was born July 28, 1925 in Elmira, NY the daughter to the late Freeman and Violet (Rudrauff) Osborne. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Callear in 1989. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Chuck) Rusczak of Horseheads; grandchildren, Suzanne (Wade Watson) of Pine City; great grandchildren, Hunter Annemarie Watson of Pine City and Tiana and Brandi Rusczak with their mother, Bobbi Hiltunen all of Hibbing, MN; sister, Lillian Becraft of Warner Robbins, GA, dear friend and companion Robert Schrom of Horseheads and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was also predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Rusczak in 2005 and dear friend Leslie “Fuzzy” Frost in 2007. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and friend. She worked at several retail department stores in the area. She was also a member of Southern Tier Vintage Auto Club. Shirley was an accomplished artist having painted several oils for many family and friends throughout the years. She also had a unique flair for interior decorating and design which she also provided for many friends. Above all she loved her family including seeing the first birthday for her great granddaughter Hunter. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sat. July 17, 2010 from 2-4:00 and again from 6-7:00 pm where her service will follow at 7:00 pm.
