Obituary of Clifton L. Soper

SOPER, CLIFTON LEWIS Age 87, of Lowman, NY, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 11th, 2010, He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Ruthadelle H. Soper, in March 2008. He is survived by his sisters Marjorie Green(Ronnie), and Phyllis Ticknor(Harry). He is also survived by his 10 children and their families: Becky McCheyne, David (Beverly) Soper, Sheilla(Don) McIlwain, Cynthia (Wayne) Orvis, Barbara (Gordon) Cooper, Michael (Yvonne) Soper, Cecilia (Gary) Wooldridge, Todd (Karen) Soper, Brenda (Harold) May, and Dale Soper. Also, 40 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was a US veteran of WWII, serving in several countries including Guam, Guatamale and the Phillipines. He was an avid Ham Radio operator, WA2PJW, and an amateur photographer, . He loved fishing with his wife and grandchildren. He could fix just about anything you brought to him, electronic, automotive or otherwise. He was a member of Breesport Baptist Church. He was fully dedicated to his family and he was always busy helping others and giving of his time to them. Family and friends are invited to attend his service at the Breesport Baptist Church, 240 Church St., Breesport, NY, on Wednesday, November 17th. Calling hours there in church from 10-11am with a service to follow at 11am. Rev. Craig Golden and Rev. Doug Foreman will officiate. Interment will take place following the service in Hilltop Cemetery in Breesport. Arrangements are with the Barber Funeral Home in Horseheads.
