Obituary of Arnold Miller
Arnold “Arnie” Miller
Age 71, of Horseheads, NY. Arnie passed away on Sunday, May 10th, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his belief in Jesus Christ supported him in his struggle, and he is now at peace with his Creator.
Arnie was born on August 18th, 1948. His parents were George and Doris Miller, a furnace repairman and a homemaker, respectively. He graduated from Horseheads High School in 1967. He loyally worked for 45 years as a welder and a parts inspector for Schweizer Aircraft Corporation, which was the oldest American privately-owned aircraft company. Schweizers manufactured gliders, helicopters, and airplanes for agricultural, recreational, corporate, and military use (the U. S. Army and Air Force). Arnie also ran a small welding business out of his house garage for nearly five decades. Through his welding he had a sterling reputation in the community for quality work completed in a timely manner and an honest price.
Arnie was married to Donna Pearson on July 31st, 1971; they were faithfully married for 48 wonderful years. He was small in stature but had a big heart. He modeled integrity and a strong work ethic, teaching his progeny and his extended family to follow his example. He was involved in his Christian community: he was a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church, serving as a deacon there for approximately two decades. He also enjoyed driving his Ford trucks, Yamaha ATVs, and New Holland tractors.
Arnie is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Robert; daughter, Susan; sister, Donna (Larry); brother, Brian (Vicky); five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris Miller, and his brother, Jerry Miller.
Private services will be held and Arnie will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
