Obituary of LAwrence F. Wood Sr.

WOOD, Lawrence F. Sr. “Larry” Age 74 of Sandbank Rd. Erin passed away at home on Sun. Jan. 23, 2010. He was born a son to the late Percy and Theola (Taylor) Wood in Elmira, NY on Feb. 12, 1936. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean (Simmons) Wood; Son, John Wood of Erin, Sister, Eunice Beach of Erin; Grandchildren, Shawn Henry Wood; He was also predeceased by his son, Larry “Woody” Wood Jr. and sister, Vivian Miller. Larry was retired from IST Corp in the Big Flats, the former Westinghouse Corp in Horseheads. Larry enjoyed camping, square dancing and loved a good game of horseshoes. He was also a veteran of the US Navy. He was also an active member of the Horseheads American Legion. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Wed. from 2-4:00 and again from 6-7:00 where his service will follow there at the funeral home at 7:00 pm. The Rev. Sheila Price will officiate.
