Obituary of Emma Ann Mosch

Mosch, Emma Ann Brazee November 18, 1929 – February 11, 2021 Our beloved mother passed away peacefully on February 11, 2021 after a brief illness. She was 91. Emma attended Franklinville High School and in 1950 graduated from the Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in the Maternity Ward at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, NY for 40 years. Emma loved and was devoted to her family and dear friends. She was an avid gardener, loved reading a good book, and enjoyed hiking, camping and traveling the world with her husband of 49 years. She was a member of the Caton United Methodist Church for 30 years and serving as treasurer for 15 years and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Organization. Emma was born on November 18th, 1929 to Paul and Angeline (Cahoon) Brazee of Franklinville, PA. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Franklin F. Mosch and is survived by her children, Barbara Hewes of Taylors SC, Robert Mendenhall of Addison, NY, William Mendenhall of Athens, PA and stepchildren, Susan (Joseph) LaFergola of Upland, CA, Carl Mosch of Elmira, NY and David Mosch of Bainbridge, NY along with 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Conley, Tonia (Ken) Driscoll, Julie (Steve) Crawford, Caitlin (James) Wesser, and Elizabeth Mosch, and 5 great-grandchildren: Riley Driscoll, Tegan Driscoll, Nicholas Crawford, Makenna Crawford and Katie Mosch as well as nieces and nephews. Emma is survived by her sister Janet (Jack) Finch of Freedom, NY and brother, Robert (Dorothy) Brazee of Seneca, PA and sister-inlaw, Margery Schornstheimer, of Elmira, NY. In addition to her parents, Emma was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Chirstine Mosch and Jayme Mosch, her brothers Hugh (Elaine) Brazee of Auburn, PA, Kurt (Beverly) Gifford of Ocala, FL, sisters: Daphney Casey of Bradford, PA, and Eleanor (Forest) Law of Machias, PA ,and brother-in-law, Richard Schornstheimer of Elmira, NY. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
