McDermott Age 86, passed away on Friday February 26th ,2021 surrounded by her children. She was born Sep. 27, 1934 the 5th of 7 children from the late George S. Rafferty and Gladys L. (Evertts) Rafferty in Elmira, NY. Barb was a Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star as well as a lifetime member. She loved family and never missed sending a card for a birthday, anniversary, or graduation. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles R. McDermott, her siblings Norma Olin, Richard Rafferty and Mary Masin, her grandchildren Ashley D. McDermott (Roger), Brinn M. Goddard (Rhonda). She is survived by her brothers George and Robert Rafferty, her sister Beverly Burger; children Mark (Teresa), Rhonda Luedeman, Roger (Elizabeth), Larry (Sabrina), 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Saturday March 6th 2021 from 10 am to 12 pm. Her service will be celebrated there at 12 pm.
