Obituary of James Michael Brown

Brown, James (Jim) Age 75 of Horseheads NY passed away on December 14th, at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira NY. He was born to John and Margaret Brown on June 4th, 1947. He lived on Decker Avenue and would have graduated in 1966 from Southside High School. Jim was predeceased by his father John (Jack) Brown in 1989, his mother Margaret (Williams) Brown in 2001, and nephew James Owen Stermer Wandell in 2010. Margaret was a war bride from Llandudno North Wales UK. Jim also went to school in Llandudno UK. He is survived by sisters Jacqueline Brown from Elmira, Deborah Brown, Regina (Bill) Biroscak from Elmira, and brother Ronald Brown (Andriana) from Leesburg VA. Also many nieces and nephews. Jim spent 57 years with a traumatic brain injury from being picked up hitchhiking by a drunk driver in August 1965 on Broadway in Elmira NY. Thank you to the many volunteers that came to the house on Decker Ave to pattern Jim, because he eventually stood up and walked. He moved to Hendy Creek Road in 1978 with his parents. Jim chose to live at Able 2 in Horseheads NY in 2001 after both parents passed. He lived there for 21 years where he made many friends and went on many adventures, concerts, and Casino trips. Jim had patience, a heart of gold, and a fantastic sense of humor. He enjoyed working out, lifting weights, the Beatles, and watching wrestling. I find peace in knowing that he touched so many lives and that many also touched his heart at some point in his life. I find happiness in knowing that he will live on in all of your memories. He may not have lived a perfect life, but he lived a good one. One that we will forever cherish and we will continue to remember.
